Mothers' Day in Ollantaytambo

Feliz Dia De Las Madres!

Rather than Hallmark cards and personal gifts, Mother’s Day is a huge public celebration in Peru commemorating the women who make this world possible. Whether dancing in the square in Ollantaytambo, preparing chicken for 1,500 people in Chachora, being honored by the workplace, celebrating with friends, taking a break with offspring close by, or making chicha, the whole country seems to have taken the time to celebrate.
